CEC runs well, Crull advances to State

Chillicothe Junior High eighth grad student Seth Crull makes his way through the Sectional race at Washington.

The Chillicothe Junior High cross country team ran at the Washington Sectional at Oak Ridge Park.

Twelve teams competed to get to state in the Class 2A meet.

Leading the girls was Megan Kelley in 19th at 13:12. Mandy Moore was 56th at 14:16 and Zoe Irvin was 72nd at 14:37.

In 81st was Allison Burwell at 15:45 with Makayla Hamilton rounding out in 89th at 20:52.

Eighty nine girls competed in the race and the girls placed 12th overall.

Seth Crull was ahead for the boys to set a personal record at 11:30 and finish in 8th overall. Elias Bergman crossed the line at 12:19 for 35th and Logan Mitchell wasn’t too far away in 64th at 12:55.

Braden Angleo finished at 13:29 for 81st with Jack Merlo and Jacob Quinn on his heels tying for 89th at 13:44.

Brandon Murnan rounded out for the Mustang runners in 90th at 13:48. The boys placed 11th overall.

Crull was the lone runner to advance to the State competition Saturday at Maxwell Park in Bloomington.
