CEC runs at 2A state tournament, two place

The Chillicothe Junior High girls track team competed at the 2A State tournament May 24 at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria.

The 4x200-meter relay team broke new grounds again with another school record at 1:54.33. Allison Sniff, Haille Taylor, Abby Camp and Madi Johnson broke the record which was originally set by Gabrielle Wade, Ashlynn Jeffries, Julie Hill and Emily Bartlett in 2009.

In the high jump, Bella Camp placed 10th at 4-feet-6-inches.

Casy Grove finished at 4-8 and Hannah Benson finished at 4-6.

Bella Camp completed the long jump at 13-10.25 and Abby Camp finished at 14-10.75.

Johnson earned 10th at 16-2.75.

In the hurdles, Sniff finished at 18.47.
