The IVC varsity soccer team had a successful week on the field.

The Lady Grey Ghosts tied with East Peoria and Peoria Christian and then defeated Central.

IVC 3, Peoria Christian 3

The Lady Grey Ghosts received its first 3-3 tie of the week with an away game at the Eastside Centre with Peoria Christian April 21.

IVC had seven shots on goal to PC’s 10. Lauren Bangert, Sierra Gatz and Kylie Milliken all had a goal in the game.

PC put in the first goal in the 14th minute but Bangert was able to respond to tie the game.

The Lady Grey Ghosts put another one in by Milliken in the 49th to take a 3-2 lead but a PC goal in the 63rd tied the game to finish.

Taylor Neys was in the net for the 80 minutes and finished with seven saves.

IVC 3, East Peoria 3

 Against East Peoria at home Thursday, the Lady Grey Ghosts had another tie at 3-3.

The first half was ended at 2-2 but IVC was able to get one in 10 minutes into the second half.

EP tied the game in the 75th minute.

Gatz had a goal assisted by Sarah Daum. Sarah Dismang put one in with an assist by Bangert and Milliken had an unassisted goal.

IVC outshot EP, 8-6. Neys finished with three saves.

IVC 8, Central 0

On IVC’s win in week four of the regular season, the Lady Grey Ghosts defeated Central, 8-0.

IVC decimated the field with 27 shots on goal and held Central to zero in the 80 minutes.

Five goals by IVC were scored in the first half. 

Freshman Skylar O’Bryant put in the first goal, unassisted, five minutes into the game. Junior Caitlin Duhs followed up 10 minutes later with an assist by Daum.

The third was scored by Daum with an assist by Dismang in the 20th minute.

Gatz had her goal in the 31st minute with an assist by Milliken and the last one in the half was made by Daum with an assist by Duhs.

In the second half, O’Bryant, again, had the first goal seven minutes in. 

Senior Kelsey Gaskins put in the seventh goal in the 54th minute with an assist by Daum. The last goal for IVC was in the 63rd minute by Duhs.

Central finished the game with 13 saves.
