The Illinois Valley Central golf team started one of the final weeks of the season by taking down Princeton at Arrowhead Country Club, 173-180.

“We played ok in that one,” coach Jim Thornton said. “We had two or three guys that shot really well for us.”

Tyler Myers led the team by shooting a 40 and was followed by a 41 from Ryan Wargo.

Daniel Heinz and Spencer Youngman both came in with a 46.

Justin Brabant finished the day with a 51 and Mason Ely had a 54.

The Ghosts golfed at 1 p.m. today in the North Central Illinois Conference meet against Princeton and St. Bede.

IVC next golfs at the Regional Tuesday at IVC with times to be announced.

“We have the conference tournament this week at Arrowhead Country Club so we obviously want to do good in that to get ready for the Regional,” Thornton said.
