Ghost golfers hit tough week

The Illinois Valley Central golf team started a rough week by competing in the Monmouth Titan Invitational Aug. 27.

Spencer Youngman led the Ghosts when he finished with an 86 on the 18-hole course.

Ryan Wargo came in behind Youngman with an 88 for the day and was followed by a 99 from Justin Brabant.

Daniel Heinz helped the team by shooting a 96 and Mason Ely finished with a 108.

The Ghosts finished the day with a score of 369.

The team hosted Dunlap Wednesday and lost, 169-156.

Tyler Myers led the team this time when he shot a 40.

Youngman had another strong outing by finishing with a 41.

Heinz had another good performance by shooting a 43.

Wargo and Brabant both shot 45 for the team.

Ely finished the round with a 47.

The team dominated Central at home Thursday, 162-205.

Myers led the team with a 38 and was followed by a 40 from Youngman.

Heinz came in with a 41.

The Grey Ghosts next golf at 4 p.m. Thursday at Arrowhead Country Club against Streator High School.
