IVC boys battle at Dunlap

The Illinois Valley Central track team took on the Dunlap Relays Thursday and finished fifth out of eight teams.

“It was another cold and windy meet,” coach Mike Themas said. “The last two events were cancelled due to lightning in the area.

“Nolan Seiler, Jeremy Brown, Alex Schaefer and Tyler Haas all had a good meet.

“Sophomore Drew Zadrzynski had a fast 400. The boys all came home with a lot of medals.”

Other results include, first place: long jump, Seiler, 19’6 1/2; discus, Brown, 132’1.

Third place: shot put, Haas, 40’5; pole vault, Schaefer, 11.

Fourth place: intermediate hurdles shuttle, Schaefer, Caleb Bjerk, Dusty Seckler, 54.9.

Fifth place: 4x100 relay, Austin Wilhelm, Zadrzynski, Caleb Rose, Jesse Hall, 47.97; freshman/sophomore sprint medley, Cole Daly, Evan Schultz, Liam Price, Zadrzynski, 1:45.5; triple jump, Schaefer, 35’ (PR).

Sixth place: long jump, Connor Bogner, 18’9 (PR); freshman/sophomore 4x100, Daly, Zadrzynski, Schultz, Seckler, 49.52; 1600m medley, Bjerk, Hall, Wilhelm, Bogner, 4:12.9; 4x200, Rose, Cody Cox, Schaefer, Daly, 1:44.0.

The team next competes at 4:30 p.m. May 3 at home.
