IVC boys track falls at home meet

The Illinois Valley Central boys’ track team fell in their first dual meet of the year to Dunlap, 109-37, at home Thursday.

“Dunlap has a good team,” coach Mike Themas said. “We were looking for improvement since this was only our second outdoor meet of the year.

“I did see some nice things. We just have to continue to get better.

“Dusty Seckler had a good meet, setting a personal record in the 800. Tyler Haas continues to improve in the shot put.”

The 4x100 team of  Austin Wilhelm, Drew Zadrzynski, Caleb Bjerk and Caleb Rose finished first with a time of 47.4.

Connor Bogner finished first in the 800 by running a 2:08.6.

Jeff Davis took first in the pole vault with a personal record of 9’6.

Haas won first in the shot when he had a personal record throw of 40’6.

The team next competes at 4 p.m. Friday at Lewistown.
