IVC football preview

With two games left, the Illinois Valley Central team is looking to shore up the team and earn a playoff spot.

To have a shot at earning a berth in the State playoffs, the Ghosts need to win at least one of their last two games.

Last week, the Ghosts routed the Princeton Tigers on the road, 42-8.

This week, IVC will face their last North Central Illinois Conference foe of the year, the Spring Valley Hall Red Devils.

The Ghosts will need to mix up their play calling on offense to assure that quarterback Brock Adcock can make plays to receivers Sherrarr Tate and Trever Black, as well as making sure that running backs Dan Semtner and Jake Innis have space to carry the ball.

On defense, Cody Bartholomew and Jake Lauber will need another big game filled with tackles and pressuring the quarterback to keep the Red Devils from racking up too many points.

The Red Devils offense is one that is built on strength, and will look to overpower the Ghosts on the line of scrimmage.

On defense, Hall is very aggressive and brings lots of defenders after the ball carrier.

If the Ghosts play like the have the past few weeks, IVC should be looking at a victory on Homecoming.

The game is at 7:30 p.m. Friday at IVC and is also Homecoming night.
