Even though city officials are not commenting on the record, the job status of Superintendent of Public Works Dave Tutterow is being discussed.

A notice for a joint committee meeting of the public works and employee relations committees listed a closed session for personnel,

“Interview — Superintendent of Public Works Position.” The meeting is at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall.

When asked about this Monday, Tutterow said, “I really do not have any comment.”

He did, however, confirm he still is working for the city, but then said, “I really don’t want to get into it right now.”

Mayor Troy Childers Sr. also would not comment on the situation but confirmed Tutterow was still employed by the city.

Tutterow was hired in late May 2009 after longtime Superintendent Sid Crabel retired.

The position is one of the many that the mayor appoints at the first Chillicothe City Council meeting each May — May 9 for this year.

The aldermen then may or may not concur with the mayor’s selections for the department heads and other appointments.
