Hayden "Strong" benefit Saturday
Residents are invited to an afternoon and evening of activities Saturday at Three Sisters Park to raise money for Hayden Bailey.
Funds raised during the event will assist with medical costs incurred and future prosthetics, his sister Amy Davis said. She, along with his sisters Monica Lavish and Morgan Bailey, as well as his girlfriend Abby Shane, are planning the event.
“It’s been really, really neat to see everybody jump in and help,” Davis said.
Donations have come locally and from other states to assist in the live and silent auctions. A wide variety of items will be available, but there are many unique items as well.
“You name it, we have it,” Davis said with a chuckle.
Tickets for both Chicago Cubs and White Sox games will be offered, as well as a log bed by RVSC Furniture and Rick Hamm donated an extreme snow goose hunting day.
Food will be offered of pulled pork sandwhiches and hot dogs with fixings.
A bags tournament will begin at 3 p.m. Those who have not registered still can from 2-3 p.m. that day with registration at $30 for a two-man team the day of the event.
Band will play throughout the day as well. From 2-4 p.m., Almost There will perform. The live auction begins at 4 p.m., and depending on how long it takes, the next band, Blue Ridge Experience is planned to perform from 6-8 p.m. To finish out the night, Sorry Mom will perform.
Children’s activities also will be available.
