Illinois energy codes training course Nov. 19 at ICC North

Those in the building industry can learn what the new energy construction codes mean for them and their business during a free training session on Monday, November 19, 8 am – 4:30 pm, at the Illinois Central College North Campus, 5407 N. University, Peoria.

The training is for homebuilders, designers, code officials and home performance contractors to learn about the 2012 Illinois Energy Construction Code and how it applies to new construction, additions and renovation projects in Illinois. This seminar will provide the information needed to correctly apply the code in the design, plan review, field-inspection, and analysis of construction in Illinois.

Attendees will learn about IECC 2012, Chicago Energy Conservation Code, Blower door and duct testing, controls for daylight harvesting, designing for on-site renewables, and system commissioning.

The training is one of 11 being offered throughout the state and is organized by the Illinois Energy Office and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. Locally, the training is hosted by the Professional Development Institute at Illinois Central College.
