The Illinois Library Association is “bouncing” their way to Peoria for 2012 Convention

PEORIA, IL-Librarians from all across Illinois will be gathering together for the 2012 “Bounce Higher” Convention held at the Peoria Civic Center October 8-12.

The Illinois Library Association is hosting a five-day convention full of featured speakers, exhibits and poster sessions. The convention will begin with a speech from keynote speaker, Kevin Carroll, author of “Rules of the Red Rubber Ball: Find and Sustain Your Life’s Work” and founder of The Katalyst Consultancy, at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Other speakers throughout the convention include librarians from Skokie Public Library, Plainfield Public Library, Eastern Illinois University and many others.

Poster sessions are being held on Oct. 10-11. These sessions will include presentations of successful research projects, demonstrations of how to use 3-D printing in a public library and instructional speeches on how to get the community more involved.
