Four Chillicothe alumni were recognized as Distinguished Alumni in 2013. Nominations are needed for 2014's awards by Feb. 15

It is again time to start selection process for The Distinguished Alumni Award.

This award is given to alumni of Chillicothe High School and Illinois Valley Central High School who have distinguished themselves through exemplary accomplishments.

Selection is based on professional impact or career achievements, civic involvement, professional honors and awards, philanthropic service, and other exemplary accomplishments in life. The organizations will also present an award to “Friends of Chillicothe/IVC” for non-alumni who have provided specific or meritorious service on behalf of the school district or alumni association.

The Distinguished Alumni Award committee invites residents to nominate themselves or anyone else whom they feel is deserving of this award.

Go to www.ivcschools.com and follow the IVC Alumni Association link to find the nomination form.

Complete the form and submit it with as much documentation as possible.

Nominations are due to the Central Office by Feb. 15.

Information can be mailed to IVC School District 321, 1300 W. Sycamore, Chillicothe, IL 61523, ATTN: Distinguished Alumni Award. Information may also be emailed to bgeltmaker@ivcschools.com.

A selection committee representing the sponsoring groups and community has been formed to review nominations of Distinguished Alumni recipients. Nominated candidates not selected will automatically be carried over for consideration in future years.

Winners will receive an individual award and be recognized permanently on a plague at the high school.

Photos and biographies of the recipients will be displayed at IVC High School throughout the year.
