The IVC Madrigal Dinner is a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. The cast poses in full colorful costume, as they prepare for the evening of fun, music and food.

Tickets for the Illinois Valley Central High School Madrigal Dinner are on sale now. Tickets for the Dec. 10 and 11 musical dinner theatre are $25 per person and available at IVC High School. Reservations may be made by phone, by calling 274-5481.

IVC director of choirs Angie Dorough explains the premise of the Madrigal Dinner.

“The lovely Queen Audra (Audra Storm) and good king Zedekiah (Zane Crockett) have planned a wonderful evening of food and entertainment and have invited some lovely maidens to meet their son, Prince Christopher (Chris Harness),” she said. “Princess Delaney Ann (Delaney Lawson), Princess Ashley (Ashley Larson) and Princess Leah (Leah Brincks) have come to participate in the chance to marry the prince. There is just one little hitch — the prince has a problem talking to women folk.

“He acquires Jester Jess’ (Hannah Bredeman) help in this matter and ultimately finds his true love. The fun continues when Lord Chamberlain (Connor Orton) and his Jester sidekicks (Katherine Heth and Miclain Keffeler) try to discover a villain amongst the party and traveling troubadours give us their rendition of Hamlet.”

More than 100 students from the Chillicothe community join together to make the weekend a success, she adds.

The four-course feast with all the trimmings will be prepared by Cater Inn.

“Please join the cast and crew for a wonderful night of laughter, music and food,” Dorough said.
