The Chicago Sun-Times recently released its rankings of the top schools in Illinois, and all Dunlap district schools were listed on them.

The elementary school rankings, which are based on schools that tested in at least two grades, had Dunlap Grade School ranked 52nd. Banner ranked 64th, Wilder-Waite ranked 72nd and Ridgeview ranked 134th.

At the middle school level, Dunlap Valley ranked 36th and Dunlap Middle ranked two spots below at 38th. The middle school rankings are also based on schools that tested in two grades.

The high school placed the best overall, being ranked 16th in the state. High school rankings are based on 11th-grade results.

The Sun-Times uses standardizing to analyze the “scale score” of reading and math tests statewide, then compares it to the state average to create a school average that is ranked.
