The program “Starting Your Vegetable Garden” will be held in the Illinois Central College Horticulture Building at 10 a.m. May 24.  The program is ideal for gardeners of all ages and interest levels.  There is no fee to attend, and with the cool spring of 2014 there is still time to start a garden.

The program is the first in the ICC Summer Horticulture Series which presents gardening topics throughout the growing season.  It will be presented by University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener Lee Maki who received an Illinois Outstanding Master Gardener Award and is also involved with area community gardening efforts, including the Washington Community Garden.
