Volleyball takes care of Canton

Canton scored a combined 18 points against the Dunlap volleyball team on Thursday as the Eagles cruised to a 25-10, 25-8 victory.

The win gave Dunlap their first conference win of the season. The Eagles sit at 1-3 in Mid-Illini conference action, and 4-6 overall as of Friday.

Leading the team in kills was Audrey Cramer with seven. Elizabeth Finerty hit double digits in assists with 10.

Other statistical leaders include Brooke Langan with six aces, Danielle Peterson with four digs and Jaeden Barlow with two blocks.

The sophomore and freshmen Eagle teams also beat Canton to open up the night.

The sophomore team won, 25-17, 25-14 and freshmen won, 25-10, 25-8.

The volleyball team only needed one more set Sept. 13 to hand Metamora its first conference loss of the season.

However, a strong second and third set by the home team handed Dunlap their third conference loss of the season, 22-25, 25-14, 25-8.

Three Eagles finished with five kills, while Elizabeth Finerty had 19 assists. Danielle Peterson netted two aces and a dig. Also getting two digs was Dana Jablonski.
