Tennis beats Raiders on road

The Dunlap tennis team had no problems picking up a conference win Sept. 13 against East Peoria.

The Eagles started out singles action winning five of six matches. Mallory Horton had to win seven games in the first set, but easily won the second set, 7-5, 6-1.

Also picking up quick singles wins were Molly Mathes, 6-4, 6-2, Sophia Prager, 6-0, 6-0, Mikaela Jasinski, 6-1, 6-3, and Melissa Clark, 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles, the pair of Horton/Mathes only gave up two games, winning 6-1, 6-1. The pair of Jasinski/Tara Keenan also had a strong showing, winning at No. 2, 6-1, 6-4.

On Saturday, the Eagles took third at the Galesburg Invitational.

In No. 1 singles, Prager finished in fourth place, while Clark took third at No. 2 singles. The pairs of Horton/Mathes and Jasinski/Keenan both took second place at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
