Eagles golfers beat East Peoria

East Peoria’s golf teams could not stand up to either of Dunlap’s teams on Sept. 13.

The boys, at Quail Meadows, beat the Raiders, 169-180.

Leading the way was a 1-over par 37 by Matt Lavery, while Jake Schneider shot a 42. Rounding out the scorers was Nick Colombo with a

44 and Joe White with a 46.

Junior varsity player Jason Meyer was a medalist by shooting a 41.

On the girls side, Dunlap won, 208-220, behind Lexi Hammerton’s 3-over par 40 at Donovan.

Aly Weiler shot a 54, while both Jessica Brix and Megan Reed had 58s.

The next day, the boys team faced Peoria Central at Newman and carded a 164 as a team, easily beating Central’s 211.

The boys were led by a 38 from Lavery, with Schneider scoring a 41. Scroggins had a 42 and Columbo a 43.

The girls team won the LeRoy Invitational on Saturday by shooting a 64 as a team.
