Swimming sweeps Peoria on road
The Dunlap girls swim team looked just as strong in their second meet of the season, sweeping Peoria, 135-37.
The Eagles started off the meet winning the 200-yard medley in a time of 2 minutes, 20.15 seconds before Kaitlyn Klister won the 200 free in 2:23.57. Later, Klister won the 100 back with a time of 1:08.59.
Kinsey Emanuels followed that up with a win in the 200 IM in a time of 2:39.09. Emanuels also took first in the 100 fly in 1:15.45.
Bridgette Basso also walked away with two singles first-places in the 50 free and 100 breast.
Diver Mary Greb earned a first with an overall score of 127.10.
Other first-place finishers in single competition include Courtney Noble in the 100 free (1:05.75) and Tyler Steinmann in the 500 free (6:18.63).
In relay action, the team finished first in the 200 free and 400 free.
On Thursday, the Eagles took second at a three team meet at Dunlap. The team had 137 points, while Normal Community won with 145.
The Eagles took first in the 200 medley, 200 IM, 50 free, 100 fly, 500 free, 100 back and 100 breast.
Saturday, Dunlap took third at the Rock Island Invitational with 198 points. The top score was Pleasant Valley with 223.
The team took firsts in the 2x100 back and 2x100 breast. Danel Voorhees and Klister swam the back, while Alaina Potts and Caitlin Ahern swam the breast.
