After having the game against East Peoria rained out on April 19, the softball team hoped to have a good showing against Limestone on Thursday.

Limestone came out hot at home, scoring 10 runs in the first two innings before shutting Dunlap out 11-0 in five innings.

The Eagles managed only one hit.

Brea Mercer picked up the loss for the girls. Kelsie Burton and Abby Akright also pitched. Burton struck out two.

Dunlap has a busy schedule for the rest of the week, facing Pekin on Tuesday and East Peoria at 4:30 p.m. today in Dunlap. This is a make-up game from when the two teams were supposed to play on April 19.

The team then travels to Morton on Thursday before going to the Pleasant Plans Tourney this weekend.

The Eagles then go to Lewistown on Monday before coming back home to face Washington on Tuesday.
