Dunlap baseball handles Metamora

Dunlap faces Washington at home April 13.

Five innings were all the Eagles needed April 20 to dispatch Metamora, 15-3.

Dunlap had already racked up 11 runs in the first four innings before Metamora scored their first run in the bottom of the fourth.

Brandon Drum led the team, going 3-for-4 with a double, home run and four RBIs. He also picked up the win, striking out four and walking two.

Also getting doubles were Nick Mangieri, Conner Currier, Grant Murphy and Blake Abbott. Currier, Murphy and Daniel Clements each had 2 RBIs.

The weekend tournament at Pleasant Plains was canceled due to rain.

Dunlap also beat Canton on Monday, 10-0, in four innings.

Derrick Smith had a double and three RBIs, while Currier added three RBIs. Logan Schrader earned the win.

The Eagles (9-6, 4-3) play today at home against Canton before facing Eureka Saturday.

The team will have its first game under the lights Monday against East Peoria at 7 p.m. The next day, the team travels to Illini Bluffs.
