A semi-truck crash Monday morning closed Illinois Route 40 for several hours.

Dwayne C. Collins, 50, of French Village, Mo., was driving his semi on Route 40 near Park School Road about 5 a.m. when he lost control and it overturned, according to a news release issued by the Illinois State Police.

The truck was transporting dry goods, though fuel spilled from the vehicle. The road was closed while crews cleaned up.

Collins was treated and released for minor injuries at the scene. He was issued a citation for driving too fast for conditions.
