Dunlap boys track bests IVC at home

The boys track team took second place when they started Mid-Illini conference action on April 5.

Metamora finished with 100 points, while Dunlap had 60. Canton finished in third with 19.

In the jumps, Justin Maskery finished first in the high jump, while Cody Durand took first in the pole vault.

Maskery finished with a jump of 6-feet, while Durand had a vault of 14-feet.

The Eagles also had four first-place finishes in the track portion.

Matt Weber finished first in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10 minutes, 46.5 seconds.

Treston Fowler also finished first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.47.

Two relay teams also took first place.

The team of Zach Leitner, Everett Lepp, Zach Plank and Camren Rohman took first in the 4x800-meter real, finishing in 8:47.01.

Leitner and Rohman also paired with Tyler Blum and Chris Johnson to take first in the 4x400-meter relay.

Dunlap then had a strong showing at home against Illinois Valley Central, beating them, 109-37.

The Eagles took first place in all track events except the 800-meter dash and 4x100-meter relay.

In the field events, the Grey Ghosts took first in the pole vault and shot put.

Jacob Retz took first for Dunlap in the discus with a throw of 114-feet-1-inch.

In the jumping events, Davion McManis took first in the long jump with a distance of 18-11, while Maskery finished in first in the triple jump (36-7) and high jump (5-10).

The Eagles go to Ottawa Township High School Saturday before returning home to face East Peoria Tuesday.
