With the torrential downpour of rain in the area, those living near the Illinois River see water coming closer and closer.

The river is forecasted to crest Friday in Henry at 32 feet, but could go over or under that number by one foot.

Records set for Henry include 32.67 feet on March 22, 1979, and 32 feet in March 1985, according to the National Weather Service bureau in Lincoln.

In Peoria, the river is expected to crest on Saturday. It currently is at 24.2 feet.
