Five Finger Death Punch headlines Spring Fling
The Peoria Civic Center will be rocking with the third 105.7 The X Spring Fling concert Friday.
The concert features four bands, being headlined by Five Finger Death Punch. The other bands on stage that night include Alter Bridge, Adelitas Way and The Pretty Reckless.
The show kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Peoria Civic Center Arena.
Matt Bahan, program director for 105.7 The X, said that the Spring Fling was started because rock music is a big deal in the Midwest.
He said that this year’s groups were chosen based on popularity in the area, along with a mixture of newer and older groups.
“I came up with a decision based on what’s on the rock charts and what we play on 105.7 The X,” he said.
Bahan said that the station was one of the first to play music from Five Finger Death Punch in 2008, and he’s watched them grow over the years.
Recently, the group won a pair of awards at the Revolver Golden Gods Award Show. Chris Kael was named the Paul Gray Best Bassist and “Lift Me Up” was the Song of the Year.
This will be the first show in central Illinois for The Pretty Reckless, who is lead by vocalist Taylor Momsen.
The concert will also be a return to Peoria for both Adelitas Way and Alter Bridge, who will be bringing some new songs with them.
“All of these bands put on great, great live shows,” Bahan said. “They’ll all have loud, obnoxious fun that’s in your face.
“Attendees can expect an incredibly entertaining show, from the light shows to all the bells and whistles.”
Tickets for the Spring Fling are $32.50 for upper bowl tickets and $42.50 for floor and lower bowl tickets.
“It’s the cheapest rock ticket out there,” Bahan said.
