The friends of the Bob & Tom Show will be sharing plenty of laughs on Friday.

The comedy tour makes its stop at 8 p.m. Friday at the Peoria Civic Center Theater.

Kristi Lee, from the nationally syndicated radio show, will host the evening that features three comedians: Bob Zany, Costaki Economopoulos, who did a weekly broadcast on the show called "The Economonologue," and Greg Hahn, who features a high-energy show.

Tickets for the show are $29.50 and $35.

Zany, age 53, started his comedy act at the age of 15 on "The Gong Show." He continued his comedy act a year later on the Bob & Tom Show. He's been doing comedy ever since.

"It was that or house painting for a living," he joked.

In 1994, Zany made another appearance on the Bob & Tom Show before starting his weekly Zany Report on the show in 1997.

"It was my way of writing topical jokes," Zany said.

He ran the report during his radio show in Los Angeles before counting it on the Bob & Tom Show.

Today, the Report is a monthly segment on the show, but is done with a live audience.

While many may think he gets his humorous articles though the Internet, that's not the case.

"Once in a while I find things online, but I'm still old-school," he said. "I use newspapers."

He said the challenge is coming up with the comedic twist to the stories.

When it comes to touring, Zany said live shows are completely different from the Report.

He has done more than 1,000 national shows.

"The thing I do the best is stand-up," Zany said.

He said he starts the show by telling the audience there's a beginning, middle and end, and let's the audience lead his jokes from there.

Besides being on tour, Zany is also the star of the documentary film, "Close But No Cigar," and recently starred in the movie "23 Minutes to Sunrise."
