Celebrate Fourth of July with Gospelfest

 Ignite 4th of July celebrations with a patriotic concert a few days prior to the big day itself.

Gospelfest Ministries will present “God Bless America: A Patriotic GospelFest” at 7 p.m. July 1 at Five Points Washington. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.

 The concert will feature Shawn Degenhart and the GospelFest Singers along with the 65-plus member GospelFest Choir. Audience members are encouraged to wear their red, white and blue for an evening that promises to be deeply moving.

 The concert will include standard patriotic anthems including “This Land Is Your Land,” “God Bless America,” “My Country Tis of Thee” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” interspersed with American gospel favorites like “God of Our Fathers” and “Church in the Wildwood.”

 This Patriotic GospelFest concert will also include a tribute to veterans and those currently serving with “I Salute You,” a video honoring all branches of our military services. Washington Mayor Gary Manier and local first responders will be also be recognized for their service during last year’s tornadoes.

Congressman Aaron Schock will also be present to update on the first military build for Habitat for Humanity and announce the location for the next military home.
