Health and wellness expert Jillian Michaels will soon be in Peoria as part of her “Maximize Your Life” tour.

Michaels is set to host her Illinois leg of the tour at 7:30 p.m. April 8 at the Peoria Civic Center.

According to the press release, the show will be “an evening of inspiration, information and motivation.”

“The show is about living your happiest healthiest life and that subject encompasses many things from connecting with and cultivating your passion, dramatically enhancing self image and self worth, learning how to move through fear, and taking away an action plan to break through obstacles and bring powerful informed actions to your intentions in order to achieve life goals once and for all,” Michaels said.

During the show, Michaels, host of the TV show “The Biggest Loser,” shares her own personal transformations by talking about her keys to health, success and happiness. She then shows how the information can apply to attendee’s lives.

“It’s an interactive show,” Michaels said. “I bring the audience up on stage at various points during the show. I engage with them, poll them, put them through mental exercises (not physical, don’t panic) and there is a Q&A during the show.”

Michaels said she hopes attendees come away learning how to reach their potential and live an exceptional life.

“The goal is to inform them and empower them,” she said. “I help them connect with and define their life goals and, most importantly, give them the tools to achieve anything they put their mind to.”

Tickets for the event are $25, $39.50, $49.50, $69.50 or $150. The highest-priced ticket, a VIP ticket, will get attendees the best seats in the house and a photo opportunity with Michaels after the show.

Tickets are available at the Civic Center box office or at ticketmaster.com.

“I want to stop wherever I can to complete my tour of the U.S. and the fans in Peoria are as much my priority as any,” Michaels said.
