The TazWood Dance Company, in residence at Illinois Central College, will hold auditions for children who wish to perform in Danceology, the Company’s spring concert.

Auditions will be held on March 15 in the Performing Arts Center on the ICC East Peoria Campus.

There are opportunities for school-aged children, and there is no charge for participation.

Children chosen to participate in the performance will have rehearsals from 3:30-4:15 p.m. on Saturday afternoons beginning March 15.

Performance dates and times for Danceology include: 7:30 p.m. May 2, 2:30 p.m. May 3 and a May 1 matinee performance for schools and seniors.

For this concert, the children will be dancing in the “Stage and Screen” section to songs from the movies Frozen and Despicable Me. Participants will be given dancing roles according to age and ability.

The TazWood Dance Company has offered dancing roles to children from the greater Peoria area since 1990.

In the past 23 years, more than 2,500 children have performed with the Company on the stage at ICC.  Giving children performance opportunities and exposure to the arts is very important to the Company, and it is offering reduced rate ticket prices for the matinee performances for children.
