Kroger raises $20,000 for American Heart Association
The Kroger Co.’s Central Division, of which the Chillicothe store is a member, announced the results of its coin box fund-raising campaign on behalf of the American Heart Association.
Kroger customers and associates made donations from May 23 through Aug. 14 totaling $18,750.
Kroger will match those donations with an additional $1,250 in corporate funds, bringing total support of the AHA’s Indianapolis affiliate to $20,000.
“Kroger supports dozens of health-related organizations and events across Indiana and Illinois every year,” Kroger Central Division public affairs manager John Elliott said in part through a press release.
“Helping find a cure for heart disease is an important priority and in many cases, particularly when combined with healthy eating habits and exercise, is wholly preventable. Heart disease affects many members of the Kroger family and is a cause supported with passion and dedication by the more than 15,000 associates in Kroger’s Central Division family. The American Heart Association is an outstanding partner in those efforts.”
