All ages are welcome to attend an event with author Christina Uss on Nov. 7. Uss will talk about her first middle-grade novel, "The Adventures of a Girl Called Bicycle." Released to stellar reviews in June, it is the quirky story of a determined 12-year-old who rides her bike from Washington, D.C., to San Francisco in search of her first true friend. Adventure and the unexpected abound!

Christina Uss is a bike rider and a bike writer: she has ridden across the United States twice (lengthwise and widthwise), and writes about bicycling for magazines and newspapers. As an adventure tour guide, she’s taken families biking and hiking in 15 different states. Even more than pedaling across state lines, Christina loves books, especially ones that remind us that the world is a wonderful, weird place full of unexpected adventures.

The free author event will take place Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 4 p.m., at Chillicothe Public Library, 430 N. Bradley Ave., Chillicothe, IL 61523.
