Josephine "Jo" E. Pillman

Chillicothe - Josephine "Jo" E. Pillman, age 92, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Accolade Health Care in East Peoria.

Jo was born on August 20, 1929 in Peoria, IL to Charles and Catherine Workman. She married Donald R. Pillman on June 12, 1948 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2019. Also preceding her in death are her parents and siblings.

Surviving are her children, Donna (Steve) Hess of Vero Beach, FL and William (Sally) Pillman of Peoria, IL; her grandchildren, Melissa Guertin of Minneapolis, MN, Laurie (William Vick) Pillman of Peoria and Jennifer (Michael) Pillman-Hoepper of Chillicothe; and her great-grandchildren, Elsie, Jameson, McKell and Maceo.

Jo was a fun-loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Some of her favorite things were her flowers, gardening, coffee and hummingbirds. She was known for her pineapple upside-down cake and cookies.

Cremation rites will be accorded and private family graveside will be held at Chillicothe City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chillicothe American Legion Post #9, 1043 N. 2nd Street, Chillicothe, IL. Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
