Delavan - Betty L. Stafford, 97, of Delavan, formerly of San Jose, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 in Delavan.

She was born April 10, 1924 in Peoria to Bernhardt and Mina Walters Hagemeier. She married Edward Stafford on July 7, 1940 in Burlington, IA, and he passed away December 7, 1971.

Surviving are one daughter, Patricia (Daniel) Stone of Delavan; seven grandchildren, Pamela (Drew) Cook of Mason City, Danette (Michael) Chobanian of Pekin, Michael (Rhonda) Karr of Mason City, Vencil Stone of Delavan, Edward (Maria) Stafford of Chatam, Roy Stone of Delavan, and Billy Stafford of Mason City; several great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Barbara) Hagemeier of Germantown Hills.

She was preceded in death by one son, Edward F.; three brothers, Bernard, Carl, Donald; two sisters, Dorothy Hagemeier and Shirley Welch.

Betty worked for the San Jose Community Schools as a custodian and as a certified nurses aide at several area nursing homes, last working at Mason City Area Nursing Home.

She was a member of San Jose Christian Church.

Her funeral will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan. Allen Payne will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Allens Grove Cemetery, rural San Jose.

Memorials may be made to San Jose Christian Church.
