Ronald F. "Ron" Dial

Edelstein - Ronald F. "Ron" Dial, 82, of Edelstein, passed away at 2:28 a.m. Sunday, May 16, 2021 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Ron was born on December 28, 1938 in Texico, IL, the son of Francis Grant and Nancy "Eva" (Beck) Dial. He married Arlene Andreotti on September 10, 1960 in Westmont, IL; she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Mark (Shari) Dial of Iowa City, IA, and Douglas (Amy) Dial of Edelstein; three grandchildren, Drew (Emily), Alyssa and Samuel Dial; and one great-grandchild, Dominic Dial; three brothers, Donald Dial of Carol Stream, IL, Wayne Dial of Sugar Grove, IL, and Roger Dial of New Hampshire; and one brother-in-law, Al (Judy) Andreotti of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.

Ron was a hard-worker, a great provider, mentor and role-model. He loved to tease everyone and you knew he loved you when he gave you a nick name. He enjoyed smoking meat, golfing, Formula 1 and playing cards. Ron volunteered with the Westmont Fire Department, and as a local Boy Scout leader.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held at a later date. Haskell Funeral & Cremation Services in Princeville is in charge of arrangements.
