An East Peoria man allegedly possessed videos and photos of young children engaged in sex with adult men.

Three of the depictions featured girls about age 6, including one who was bound and gagged. A fourth involved a child about 2, according to a Tazewell County prosecutor’s court affidavit.

Michael Giebelhausen, 35, of 209 Schlag Lane, was charged last Friday with four counts of possessing child pornography, felonies punishable by up to seven years each in prison.

His arrest came May 16 after an investigation that began last December. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received notice from an internet website that child porn files had been uploaded to the website by a user with an email address bearing Giebelhausen’s name, the affidavit stated.

The Illinois Attorney General’s Office and Illinois State Police conducted the probe, which revealed the upload apparently came from a computer owned by Giebelhausen’s employer, the affidavit stated.

Investigators searched Giebelhausen’s home and found additional child porn files, “including many in which the children were bound and/or restrained,” the affidavit stated.

They also found numerous photos that, while not pornographic, depicted children’s feet and other body parts, the affidavit stated.

Giebelhausen is free on $50,000 bond pending his next court appearance on June 2.
