The Pekin girls track and field team got its season off on the right foot.
The Dragons defeated visiting Peoria Notre Dame 80-66 last week at Memorial Stadium, winning 10 of 18 events.
Illinois State University recruit Paige Arseneau was a double-winner of individual events for the Dragons, winning the 800 (2:29.56) and 1600 (5:34.20).
Other winners of individual running events for Pekin were Hope Watts in the 400 (1:04.35), Olivia Wolf in the 3200 (13:21.42) and Riley Hacker in the 100 hurdles (:17.29).
Pekin had three field event winners: Preslie Burgess in the long jump (15 feet, 9.5 inches), Gabi Salazar in the discus (94-1) and Emma Grashoff in the high jump (5-0).
The Dragons also won two relays.
Hacker, Madison Hieser, Shamya Handegan and Iris Thaller won the 4x100 (:57.4) and Rylee Caldwell, Malia Conner, Gwendolyn Sivori and Ariel Chism won the 4x400 (5:22.15).
Pekin will play host Saturday to the annual Lady Dragon Relays at Memorial Stadium. Competition will begin at 10 a.m.
