CHILLICOTHE — The former Cedar House is slated to become a new eatery operated by the owners of the Germantown Grille.

The Grille Two is scheduled to open by Labor Day weekend, said Sarah Adkins, who with husband Jake Adkins has run the Germantown Grille in Germantown Hills for six years.

The expansion into Chillicothe would be aided by a loan of almost $150,000 approved by the Chillicothe Economic Development Committee. The Chillicothe City Council will vote on the loan June 9.

The Cedar House closed last month. A coffee shop in the same building, Nat's Place, will remain in business. The rest of the building will be occupied by the Grille Two, whose menu will mirror the Germantown Grille's.

"It'll be similar," Sarah Adkins said. "It might be a little smaller."

Though Nat's Place will continue to host gaming machines, the Grille Two will seek to offer the same. The city has one open license available for gaming machines, Adkins said.

The new eatery will employ as many as 25 workers, perhaps 15 full time, she said.

"We'll be very active in the community," she said.
