PEORIA — A Peoria rock station announced the hiring of its new program director Wednesday after its former one abruptly departed last month.
Noah Sherwood will be the new program director of 99.9 WWCT and will also serve as the morning host alongside current co-host Roxy Baker.
A 12-year veteran of radio, Sherwood was previously an assistant operations manager for two Cumulus Media stations, WFYR and WZPW, in Peoria.
Sherwood replaces Marc Alghini, the former program director and morning host for WWCT, who left the station in early January as a "mutual decision" between him and the company. Alghini was a constant presence around Peoria, emceeing local events, festivals, fundraisers and concerts hosted by WWCT, including the annual Snowball concert in December.
WWCT is owned by the locally-run Advanced Media Partners, which also operates 98.5 KISS FM, 96.5 ESPN and 101.1 JACK FM.
