Hosta Society meets Tuesday

The Central Illinois Hosta Society will meet at 6 p.m. June 19 at the garden of Brian and Kathy Bauernfeind, 2832 Black Oak Drive, Pekin. The Bauernfeind's garden hosts an array of hostas, astilbes, coral bells, pulmonarias and hydrangeas surrounding a patio, fire pit, and many serene walkways. Refreshments and a tour of the garden begin at 6 p.m. followed by a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Please bring a lawn chair.

Master Gardener meeting

Peoria Master Gardeners will hold their meeting on Wednesday at the Peoria Extension Office. Social time begins at 12:30 p.m. with a program at 1 p.m. Patricia Melaik, a Peoria County master gardener and master naturalist, will discuss "Flying Colors and Pollinator Gardens." The program will include butterfly basics and how to start a butterfly garden. Membership meeting begins at 2 p.m. The public is invited.

Peoria Garden Club walk on June 23

The Peoria Garden Club is presenting "Gardens In Bloom," a garden walk of five gardens, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 23. Tickets are $15 in advance at local nurseries and florists and $20 the day of the event at the homes.

Gardens will be open at the: Bakers, 126 E. Coventry Lane in Edgewild neighborhood; Neumillers, 439 E. Woodlawn Place; Tsoraides, 5508 N. Prospect Road, Peoria Heights; Coxes, 5030 N. Prospect Road, Peoria Heights and the Lake house garden, 535 Deer Lakes Drive, Goodfield.

Morton Garden Club meeting

Morton Village Garden Club will meet at 6 p.m. June 18 at the Morton Public Library. Following a short business meeting will be a visit to Henry's Farm, a diverse sustainable vegetable farm at 432 Grimm Road, Congerville. Those attending will carpool from the library.
