Marie E. Black, 90, died at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Heritage Manor.

Born Jan. 13, 1918, in Bloomington to Franklin Albert and Katherine E. Reich Snodgrass, she married William C. Black July 14, 1934, in Peoria. He died July 8, 1988, in Chillicothe.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donna L. Harris; one son, Edmond C. Black; one son-in-law, Robert A. LaHue; one great-granddaughter, Shauna K. Black; two brothers, Clarence and Albert Snodgrass; and one half-sister, Hester Brown.

Surviving are one son, Ronald E. (Fannie) Black of Peoria; three daughters, Beverly LaHue of Peoria, Jacqueline (Michael) Manz of Chillicothe and Melodye (Howard Jr.) Sweetin of Valrico, Fla.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Cecil C. Harris of Chillicothe; and one daughter-in-law, Iva Black of Bennett, Colo.

She worked at Sears as a sales associate for 20 years, retiring in 1980.

She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Services were Saturday at her church. The Rev. Steven Mall officiated. Visitation was Friday at Davison-Fulton Anderson Chapel and preceded services at the church. Burial was in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
