About six years after Brynn Null went missing, authorities believe they have solved her case.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department arrested Aaron W. Null, Brynn Null's husband, Thursday on first-degree murder charges.
Aaron Null, 36, of Rockford, is in the Boone County Jail on $600,000 bond.
Brynn Null, of Capron, was last seen Nov. 16, 2002, by Aaron Null. She was reported missing five days later.
Brynn Null was 25 when she disappeared.
At the time, investigators had not ruled out foul play and friends were convinced she was a victim of a crime. But few leads were available. Brynn Null’s body was never found, coroner Rebecca Wigget said.
“It could be an unclaimed or unidentified (body) in another state, but at this point we don’t have any information that would lead us to believe that,” Wigget said.
Lt. Phil Beu referred details of the arrest to the state’s attorney, who could not be immediately reached for comment.
The state’s criminal complaint says Aaron Null struck Brynn Null on and around the body with an object, knowing the act created a strong probability of great bodily harm, thereby causing death. The complaint says the offense took place on or before Nov. 17, 2002.
