Washington's Panther Classic softball tournament on Friday and Saturday will feature six ranked teams, including top-ranked Barrington in Class 4A, according to the Illinois Coaches Association.

Barrington finished third in last year's Class 4A state finals. The team sported stickers on its batting helmets that said, "We Will RISE; Washington Community Strong." Barrington has been a fixture at the Classic since 2004.

Brimfield/Elmwood is ranked 10th in Class 2A after a 9-0 start and has outscored its opponents 122-9 this season. Williamsville is third in Class 2A.

The host-Panthers are outside the top 20 in Class 3A, despite a 7-3 start that featured three losses in an out-of-state tournament in Tennessee. Pontiac, ranked fifth in Class 3A, features a pitching duo of sophomore right-hander Regan Krause and junior left-hander Amanda Fox.

Class 3A teams Geneseo, ranked 14th, and Maple Park Kaneland (19th) round out the ranked teams playing in Washington this weekend.
