It's nice to have Halloween on a Friday this year.

It seems like we've already had our festivities in town because of having Merchant Trick or Treat and Spooktacular last Friday.

I saw lots of animal costumes this year — monkeys, tigers, cats and mice.

I don't know how the judges decide the costume contest winners at Spooktacular. All the kids are so cute. (Check out their costumes on our video link and extra photos from Spooktacular and Merchant Trick or Treat.)

Look for next week's paper and more photos on the Web site of the library's haunted house and the Halloween party at IVC High School. Both events were put on by teenagers, and the kids had a great time.
