As we left Colonial Williamsburg behind and headed north to Mt. Vernon (George Washington’s home) my Mayflower Tours group eagerly anticipated their first look at our nation’s capitol.
Many were war veterans and we saluted the soaring new National Museum of the Marine Corps at Quantico, Virginia as we drove by on I-95 before stepping back in history once again to learn about the Father of our country.

If you've been watching the local TV news or reading the Chillicothe Times-Bulletin, you've seen the spirit of the Grey Ghosts rising in full force.
While the first football game didn't go the way the Grey Ghosts wanted, there was lots of spirit to go around.
A recent survey by TimesNewspapers found that seven of 11 public bodies in Woodford, Peoria and Tazewell counties failed to comply with the state’s new Freedom of Information Act. That is a dismal record.

Once news of the Chillicothe Optimist Club’s purchase of Town Theatre reached the area, there was a consistent comment from residents: the theater needed new seats.
And until they installed new seats, some residents said they would not attend movies.
