Joyce M. Waechter, 83, of 108 Louise St., Chillicothe, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at Heritage Manor.
Born Sept. 16, 1926, in Peoria to Boyd M. and Marguarette M. Barthell Eckerman, she married Melvin C. Waechter in Peoria Dec. 2, 1944. He preceded her in death May 30, 1986, in Peoria.
She was also preceded in death by one sister.
Surviving are one son, Jeffery (Rebecca) Waechter, and one daughter, Jill Byrnes, both of Chillicothe; and three grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She had been an inspector for Fleming and Potter Printing Co. in Peoria, retiring in 1980.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Edward Catholic Church. Father Glenn Harris will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Davison-Fulton Anderson Chapel in Chillicothe, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
