Rick Fehrenbacher, 58, of Dunlap died at 12:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2010.
Born Jan. 31, 1952, in Champaign to George F. and Barbara (Dewey) Fehrenbacher, he married Claudia Deske on Aug. 9, 1975, in Chicago. She survives.
Also surviving is his mother of Lacon; two daughters, Erika Fehrenbacher of Edwardsville and Katrina Fehrenbacher of Dunlap; two sisters, Margot Fehrenbacher of St. Paul, Minn., and Anne Haught of Lawrence, Kan.; one brother, Bruce (Mary Kay) Fehrenbacher of Bradford; and his mother-in-law, Erna Deske of Dunlap.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He was a 1974 graduate of the University of Illinois; he graduated from California Western School of Law in 1977 and Georgetown University, with an LLM in Estate Planning in 1979. He practiced law at Fehrenbacher, Sale, Quinn & Deese in Washington, D.C., prior to moving to Peoria in 1995. Since then he practiced law with his brother at Fehrenbacher and Fehrenbacher Law Offices in Wyoming, Ill.
He was a member of the American and Illinois Bar Associations, was voted one of Illinois’ Top Lawyers, was on the board of directors at Emmanuel Church in Bethesda, Md., enjoyed pheasant hunting and was an avid Illini fan.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Northwoods Community Church in Peoria, where he was a member. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Additional visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at Northwoods Community Church. Burial will be in St. Dominic Cemetery in Wyoming.
