Mary Jean McGinnis, 82, of Chillicothe, died at 1:25 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon.

Born Feb. 1, 1928, in Marshall County to Cecil E. and Iola M. Lutes Rowe, she married Robert L. McGinnis Nov. 8, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Henry. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Colleen (Bill) Burns of Park Ridge; and three granddaughters, Katie Burns of Arlington Heights, Bridget Burns of Elmwood Park and Nora (Brian) Warens of Evanston.

She was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Oren and Eldon McGinnis, and two sisters-in-law, Garnet Wright and Rose Miller.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Henry and graduated from Henry High School in 1946.

She was a retired supervisor of the X-ray Department at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in
Peoria.

A Mass of Christian burial was Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Henry. The Rev. Thomas Mizeur officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Henry. Visitation was Sunday at Calvert & Johnson Downtown Chapel in Henry with prayer services.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon.
