Dannie H. Hoffman, 63, of Chillicothe, died March 3, 2010, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
Born Feb. 12, 1947, in Peoria to Arlyn and Leona (Simpson) Hoffman, he married Angela Chambers March 29, 1969. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother; three sons, William (Denise) Hoffman of North Pekin, Richard (Jill) Hoffman of Peoria and Dannie (Tiffany) Hoffman of LaRose; one daughter-in-law, Shannan Armentrout; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Larry and Dave; and three sisters, Barb, Martha and Joann.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a son, Robert Hoffman.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a diesel engine mechanic at Caterpillar, retiring after 35 years of service.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Davison-Fulton Anderson Chapel. The Rev. Aaron Schellhas will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded, and interment of cremains with military honors will be at a later date.
