Eithel C. Jones, 104, formerly of Chillicothe, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Lacon.

Born Aug. 17, 1904, in Wyoming to William Henry and Jessie C. Linscott Nash, she married Gilbert W. Jones Sr. July 7, 1931, in Lacon. He died July 7, 1989.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Delores Ann, in May 1940; six sisters; and three brothers.

Surviving are two sons, Gilbert Jr. (Ann) and Ivan (Christine); two daughters, Bessie Hainline and Naomi (Henry) Davis; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

She was a homemaker all her married life.

In the 1920s, she worked at the Golden Rule clothing store in downtown Chillicothe.

She also worked at the Peoria Automobile Club, now known as Shore Acres.

Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home. The Rev. Ray Harrison will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
